Dispelling Common Myths
There are several misconceptions about union support for trainees. Let’s set the record straight:
“The union can’t help you because you’re a trainee.”
False. We have successfully assisted many new employees. As a trainee, you are not a temporary employee—you have rights, and we are here to defend them.
“I can fire you because you’re a trainee.”
Not true. In the El Centro Sector, only the Chief has the authority to terminate employment.
“You need to resign because I’m going to fire you.”
Do not resign. If you are ever pressured to resign, contact us immediately.
Stay Strong — Reach Out
This career will present challenges, but you are not alone. Stay strong, stay determined, and never hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. Remember—we can only help if we know you need it.
We are here to support you every step of the way. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
